Basic Ergonomics

The E-HORNET 2 is a strong, stable, and user-friendly rack designed for transporting e-bikes. Its wide wheel supports accommodate most regular bike and tire sizes.

Key Features of the E-HORNET 2

Assembly: The E-HORNET 2 is easy to assemble, even though it arrives unassembled. Simply attach the wheel support frame to the base with 4 screws, secure the light support with 2 additional screws, install the license plate, and fit the rack onto the tow ball. No tools are required, and you're ready to go!

Fitting to the Car: When you place the E-HORNET 2 on the tow ball, it supports itself and won’t fall. Tighten the knob until secure and lock it. BUZZRACK carriers meet the XPR-18-904-4 standard and include an anti-sway tensioner. Two or three turns of the integrated handle are usually enough. A video below demonstrates the fitting and bike installation.

Holding the Bike: Position the bike on the wheel support, adjust the clamp by sliding it along the vertical frame to find the best fit, and secure the frame. Attach the wheels using ratchet straps and lock the clamps.

Lighting System: The E-HORNET 2 comes with a 7-pin or 13-pin lighting system, depending on the market. 7-pin or 13-pin adapters are available separately.

Tilting Function: The tilting function is easy to use and balanced even with a full load. The E-HORNET 2 sits high on the tow ball, preventing the lights from scraping the road. The weight of the bikes helps return the platform to a level position. However, this geometry does not allow for the opening of tall vertical tailgates, such as on the VW Transporter T5 and T6.

Carrying Bikes and E-Bikes:

• • The wheel holders accommodate most wheelbases (excluding tandems), including small children's bikes.
  • The long rubber-padded wheel straps hold tires up to 4" wide. Pull to tighten and use the quick release to loosen.
  • The lockable frame arms securely hold your bikes and can be attached to any part of the frame or seat post. They can be locked with the same key as the tow ball attachment system.
  • Maximum load: 60kg, with no single bike exceeding 30kg.

Tow Ball Fitting: The patented conical fitting is compatible with all tow balls, including non-standard bolt-on tow balls. It locks securely to the tow ball.

High Mount: The E-HORNET 2 sits high on the tow ball, keeping it clear of speed bumps and steep ramps, such as those on ferries.

Build Quality: The E-HORNET 2 features exceptional build quality, including tube bending, welding, rust-proofing, and painting. All tools you need are included, and the carrier looks and feels like a premium product. All parts are replaceable in case of damage.

Additional Accessories: A loading ramp is available separately. The maximum load is also determined by the tow bar nose weight, so ensure it doesn't exceed the limit before use. Requires 65mm clearance from the center of the tow ball to the rear of the vehicle.
